Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19)
COVID-19: We know this is a very challenging time for you and your practice. Our leadership team convened Monday morning (March 16) and began working on investigating patient care alternatives for you to consider in each of your practices. We understand through interactions with each of our clinics, your patients are canceling appointments and you are concerned about the potential exposure of your staff. This is such a fluid situation currently, with changes taking place every few hours and we understand that is creating a lot of frustration and confusion with your staff and patients.
To ensure that your patients still receive the care they need, we are recommending that you engage in telemedicine/telehealth practices which will allow your patients to be seen remotely for many services.
Please take a few minutes and review the resources provided here. While we had originally provided the actual policy links for each of the carriers, we have removed those to prevent confusion. The carriers are making changes to their policies on a regular basis as new guidance is directed, and we found that many of the policies were no longer accurate.
If CPR performs your billing, you will receive communication directly from us about any changes we need you to make in regard to your normal daily procedure. We suggest first and foremost that you use HIPAA compliant telehealth software as much as possible. While it is true that you can currently use things like Facetime or Skype, we suggest that you do that only if you cannot use a HIPAA compliant portal or the patient cannot navigate such a portal.
If CPR does not perform your billing functions, work closely with your billing personnel to ensure you are meeting any needs they have, and that you understand the differences from carrier to carrier.
We’re here to help.

TELEHEALTH SOFTWARE PROVIDERS
ARKANSAS BLUE CROSS
Your software platform may have a telemedicine solution you can use. If they do not, or you want to explore other options, here are platforms we have been investigating for your use. Each is HIPAA compliant, offers a BAA, and is an affordable solution for your practice. Please be aware, however, that each of these solutions is also being overloaded with requests, so your response time might be a little slower than normal right now.
